Below the |bladder| is the membranous tube known as the |urethra|. The |urethra| serves as the vessel of transport for ~urine~, conveying it from the |bladder| through the penis (in the male body) or to a slit-like opening in the middle of the vulva (in the female body). In the male body, the |urethra| also serves to carry the glandular secretions of the testicles (testes) through the penis to the opening, or ~meatus~.
